Johnny Reb,
Yes, lots of history occured in Pennsylvania. Daniel Boone's Homestead is near Pottstown, PA. The French & Indian War BEGAN in PA thanks to Colonel George Washington and his activities near Pittsburgh and Great Meadows and Fort Necessity. Braddock was defeated in PA during the French and Indian War. Colonel Henri Bouquet won a battle against the Indians at Bushy Run. Now there is a battle to read about: Bouquet put half his command, after the end of the first day's battle, to lay among the dead. Next day the Indians rushed over the battlefield and were stunned to see "dead" men rise up and shoot them in the back. The Indian survivors fled. Adam

That's very interesting, I've read a lot on the civil war and Revolutionary war, but very little on the French and Indian war. I think it's time I get a few books on that war.

If you can find a copy get: The Frontiersman. Its a narrative if the life of Simon Kenton, who coincidentaly was a friend of Boone. Kind of a long read at a little over 600 pages but they go quick.
