Northcentral PA hay is HIGH.
The hayfields are ready to be cut. Until then, the woodchucks are running amok. My hound runs through the high hay chasing chucks. In a week or so, the fields will be cut and then the .25-06 could be in play.
I have had almost a decade of NO chucks, so maybe this year or two should be set off to let the chuckles come back. Adam

I shot two groundhogs last week with my 22 rifle. Headshots at approx 35 yards.

today is about 90 and humid. The guns and I will be in the airconditioning all day. I hate summer.

Yup, shot 22 chucks so far this year with the 22-250, was out this am but gave up as the temp was 100F without humidity! Will go back out when it cools of a little bit.

As of June 30, 2012, the big (20 acre) hayfield was cut and has 102 round hay bales. Old hound and I checked today and we saw 3 chucks. I have the .222 Rem, the .243 and .25-06 ready to go at first light tomorrow. I tote the shooting irons afield in a Polaris Ranger along with loyal Hund.
