Black Powder Hunting

A dear friend gave me a book by Sam Fadala entitled, "Black Powder Hunting." I read it cover-to-cover and recommend it to all smokepole hunters. It is ISBN 0-8117-0251-0 Copyright 1978.

As an old muzzleloader hunter, both flint and cap, I learned much from this book. I am sure the book is out of print, but I suggest interested folks look for it at book sales and yard sales. It is a very good book, in my opinion.

Got that one over on the bookshelf as well as the Black Powder Handbook he did. he does know his stuff. I'm not a big blackpowder fan but I do have a few of the ol smokepoles. I even bought a couple of flinters not too long ago. One is a TC 50 Hawken and the other is a Lyman. The Hawken seems to be a better built rifle..but must admit I like the looks of the Lyman better. Got 'em both at a gun show here from one fellow. He was also a Md guy at one time. he was in charge of the Beretta repair facility there. The bbl on the TC is a new a round ball bbl. Fadala covered flinters in some other books or articles with information that I think I REALLY needed.
