I go to gun shows mostly for the small stuff. At the last one I got so much little stuff. Got a set of late 60s N frame S&W target grips for 25 bucks..and a J frame target set for 15 out of a junk box..5 Lyman and RCBS bullet moulds for 60 bucks(one 41 cal HP) new brass for 41 mag..44 special..45 Colt box of 350 gr bullets for the 45-70 for 10 bucks...a Wilson chamber type seater in the box for 5 dollars. Star sizer for 125 bucks(really cheap) but it needs cleaning. Guy also had a Star Universal with Hulme case feeder but he wanted too much for it..for me anyway. 400 bucks. I already have enough Dillon Progressives. Today I bought another S&W M-27..5 inch for a Marlin 1893 and 150 bucks..And you are correct Gil..guns are usually priced a fair bit too high.. But out here I find many vendors willing to dicker a bit..I bought a Redfield receiver sight for a 1903 Springfield for 30 bucks..It had a Merit adjustable peep in it..worth more than the sight by far.. I love junk boxes at shows.

Reno has a gun show this weekend 3/27-3/29. It's our BIG one, three times a year. Many smaller ones but this is the one that everyone looks forward to. Ammo still expensive. I'm glad that I reload except components are getting scarce. .22LR well that's another story.

Well bought a decent 1894 Marlin today.. Traded it for a Marlin 45-70..And got a S&W M-15.. I am in to S&W revolvers. Target sighted guns though. But I may just buy a S&W 58 the next show I go to. Going to sell a Kimber 8400 classic Select 338 Mag. Pretty gun but I really don't use it. Going into the hospital for a few days I guess. Pacemaker. Sucks But am hoping to get more stuff cause he who goes out with the most stuff wins,,Right??

Ran into three estate sales at the Birmingham show. Bought 20 boxes of bullets for $40 at one. Pile included two boxes of 358 200s and two boxes of 458 500s, the rest were all 6.5s. But had a devil of a time getting the bullets back to my table without a bag or sack the vultures kept taking the boxes off my pile, I would snatch them back, oh were those your bullets, yeah keep your cotton pickers to yourself. There was a nice looking rifle at the end of two tables, I was at the opposite end, so could not get to it because the vultures were after my stash.... Got back and the rifle was gone, yeah I asked, knowing I was going to be disappointed, I was so right, it was a Win Hi wall in 30-30 x 6mm, the guy in charge sold it for $200 while I was gone with the bullet stash.
![]() The other two sales were over by the time I got back so only got to buy from one pile. But it was real interesting. Ed
