I have created a monster

Yesterday I took my neighbor to my local gun club to shoot a few rifles and handguns. The neighbor is 50 years old and has been away from shooting for a number of years. He bought a Luger and a Model 1911 Rock Island and really likes military arms. We shot his 1911, a Walther P-38, a Smith & Wesson Model 66 .357 magnum on the handgun range. Then we moved to the rifle range and he shot an AR-15 and a scoped Remington Model 581 bolt action .22 l.r. He shot very well and had a great time.

The problem that has surfaced is that we wants to go to the range as much as possible. Since I work a few days a week as a Range Officer, we can get out to the range every week. He wants to shoot just about every gun that I own. Then if we have some time left over, he wants to learn to cast bullets and reload. I enjoy teaching other folks how to shoot, cast and reload so I am looking forward to all of this. All the best...

Gil,

This sounds like an average week in my life. Well done, taking a friend to the range. Why not let him join the club and do his shooting on his own time.

My neighbor will be joining the club. We require new adult members to pay $30 in dues and a $30 orientation fee and attend an orientation prior to becoming a member. He has started the process now that he sees how much fun range time can be. All the best...
