Yard Sale Hakim 8x57MM.
I go yard saleing every Friday and Saturday hereabouts. Today I came on to a sale with much stuff. I paid $15 for a teepee sort of camo self-standing tent kind of thing that will be a great 6 foot by 6 foot tent 8 feet tall in my West Woods. It will accommodate me, two lawn chairs, my kit and old dog. All four walls have a zipper opening thing and the front door zips all the way down to step in and out.
Just before I packed up the camo tent into my truck, the lady said, "Hey, will you give me an offer on this old gun?" I checked it out and it was a Very Good+ 8mm Hakim. I asked what she wanted and she was clueless. Since the bore was mint, I told her I would offer $75 and she said, "sold." The only defect I found is the rear sight needs a new slider on the long axis. Adam

Dan,
You have a great memory-Yes, the half-face camp is in the West Woods. It is a lean-to sort of deal that uses a camo 12' X 18' tarp to cover it. A spring is nearby and plenty of firewood is on the ground for the campfire. My camo ground blind tepee is located just up on the ridge. Adam
