Hakim and 196 grain PPU Soft Point Ammo.
The Hakim shoots great with PPU 8mm Mauser 196 grain soft point ammo that costs $18.95 for 20 rounds at my local gunshop. My chronograph says it clocks about 2,100 feet per second at the muzzle and it shoots to the sights on the Hakim at 100 yards with Hakim sight set at 400 meters. The Hakim is TOUGH on fired brass- the cases are heavily dented upon ejection.
The Yugo M48A shoots the 196gr. PPU ammo to the 400 meter setting at 100 yards. Bear season opens this month in PA, I have two bear on my trail camera and the M48A will go afield. Semi-automatic rifles are not legal for hunting in PA despite my many letters to the Editors of newspapers and the Executive Director of the PA Game Commission. Adam

Adog,
Thanks for the Link on another thread to the bayonet site. The Hakim is a great gun-it sort of looks and feels like a Crew Served Weapon. It is a direct descendent to the Swedish M1942 Ljungman 6.5x55 MM rifle. Besides our M16, there are not too many other direct gas impingement arms in existence. Be well. Adam
