Question Where do you place your drop chart?

I've been storing a folded up printout with my drops in Mils inside of the stock pack and it needed to speed things up a bit.
Was thinking of printing a sticker that would fit under my butler creek eyepiece flip-up. Should be quicker to make adjustments.

I think that would work very well.....Mine are too long for me to do that.I just tape mine to the side of the stock

I have mine on the cheek piece.

BTW been thinking I otta magnumize the ol 270 but maintain 270 win ballistics. That way there would be room for some salt in the case behind the bullet so's the meat wouldn't spoil by the time I got to it.

Took the break between yotes and summer to refinish the stock. Son and I worked up our own finish process. Thus will return to shootin, shortly.

Good luck folks.

Make up your chart on the computer and reduce the size on a copier and paste it on the left side of your buttstock with packing
tape. That's how we did it in the Marine Corps. (Provided that you
are right handed). It works great. ( Lefties use the right side).
Just a simple glance and you have your info.

Skinny, here is my standard deer thing I did here in Germany, although I never had to use it because of the really short shooting distances here (and there is no such thing as varminting here).......but:

On the front flip up (as you look at it from behind when open) I had a big white paste-it with the click count for distances from 100m to 350m, for the correct ammo I was using.

Inside the back flip up on a white target dot, I drew a reticle, with measurements of reticle dementions, on MAX & MIN power settings. I did this crudely by hand, but if you are a PC-Whiz you can print out more (and neater) info that should work for your dots.

That way you just look at your already open flip up covers

Thumbs up jon lynn

That's a neat idea. I think that would apply to those that need a longer drop chart. I carry a spare in my wallet about the size of a credit card. Since we range with the "wild" our drops are in meters but that doesn't make a difference. Good idea.

Already have a stockpack covering the cheekpiece like the one in this photo:

Maybe the left side of the stock along the action...

Thumbs up

skinny,
That is where I put mine. Seal it in good and tight with scotch tape. When you need to look at it, pop it up and you are good to go.

Sierra22, it's good to hear from you and haven't seen you around for awhile.
Getting any hunting in?

This is what my holds look like with a 500 yard zero:

825 1462.3 830.9 -4.4
850 1435.7 801.0 -4.8

Am trying to figure out which yardages to include on the sticker. There are way to many to fit onto a small sticker as it stands now.
Maybe if it's broken down into 50 yard increments instead of 25 yarders may allow it to fit. Or, break it down to the nearest Mil and then use that yardage like this:

3.0 = 175yards
2.0 = 300 yards
0 = 500 yards
-1.2 = 600 yards
-2.2 = 675 yards
-2.9 = 725 yards
-4.0 = 800 yards

This ideer still needs more thought.

Hunting good. Busy moving north to 67.2N (that would be northern part of Brooks Range, Alaska if I were living in the US)

My dropchart won't attach. Send me email if you want a copy.

Skinny,
Here is what my card looks like. I laminated it puncked a hole in it and carry it on plastic chain. I shoot differant bullet that require obviosly differant cards. I have also just printed out the chart and used postal (wide) clear tape over it on the stock.
.
115 gr Drop Wind15
Range MOA 1/8 MOA 1/8
280 0 0 0 0
300 .3 2.7 2.4 19
350 1.2 9.7 2.9 23
400 2.1 17 3.4 27
450 3.1 25 3.8 31
500 4.2 34 4.3 35
550 5.3 43 4.9 39
600 6.5 53 5.4 43
650 7.8 63 6.0 47
700 9.1 73 6.5 52
750 10.6 85 7.1 57
I only had enough w/the 1/8 click scope to 800.
I just fixed that with a new Ziess
Long range is a hoot ain't it!

SKINNY

I USE A PATHFINDER BALLISTIC CHART IT'S A PULL OUT AND MOUNTS TO THE SCOPE. I PRINTED ALL THE PARAMETERS WITH A DYMO LABEL MAKER, IT'S WATERPROOF, SO FAR, AND EASY TO ACCESS.

I BOUGHT A HAND FULL A FEW YEARS AGO WHEN MIDWAY WAS SELLING THEM. I UNDERSTAND LEUPOLD IS SELLING A SIMILAR ITEM AT A SLIGHTLY INFLATED PRICE.

HEY IT WORKS FOR ME. NO RUNS, NO DRIPS, NO ERRORS.
