Coyotes are everywhere

In the last ten years there has been a tremendous rise in the coyote population in the north east. In massachusetts coyotes are in every little possible piece of woods that'll hold them. They are a pain in the neck here and I shoot at them when ever I get the chance.

Know what you mean. I have seen them in just about every town in the state. Brookline, Weston, Watertown etc. Try to hunt them and have manage to kill a few.

Another big boom is the fox population on the south shore. I see them a lot however never hunted down there. Plymouth has a big population in the Standish Forest.

I have hunted Geese down there on some land owned by Cumberland Farms. Its just off 24. You can't see it but you can here it. Saw a lot of Yote tracks around those fields. A lot of brush.

No its actual land that is farmed. Its hard to describe exactly where it is but you can hear the 24 traffice plus there is some heavy duty power lines running thru it.

Have nnot heard any of late ...

I own a small farm in West bridgewater cann't say I have any trouble with them yet ... They have taken the woodchucks out of the picture around the farm and I am not to unhappy to see them go . As for the deer I not seen any down turn in their wanderings around the place . On the other hand I am a meat hunter and not after racks so your mileage may differ ...

Welcome Bill to HC. Good bunch of people here. A lot of bright folks that can any question you might have on just about anything.

Yes I do hunt Bridgewater some but mostly central and western Mass. A lot of my duck hunting is in the Salisbuy/Plum Island area.

Its to a point that the majority of deer around are in the burbs. Saw a bunch of 12 in Waltham/Linclon last week. I like the big woods even if I come home empty which is fine.

The coyote is new to our area and has wiped out the woodchuck hunting. Woodchuck hunting was a great rifle sport.

There are still a ton of them in my area. Screw up the bow hunt a couple of time. Bud did hit a good one while deer hunting. Lot of fun to hunt with a handgun. Cleaned out the turkeys in the area I hunt.
