Question Old NRA Medallion ever see one?

Hi Everybody! I have an old NRA Bumper Medallion and if someone out there knows how old this is I would appreciate finding out. I inherited this from a great uncles estate he was a Life member of the NRA and had this on a wall in his basement. I think it is from the fourtys or fifties. It is susposed to mount on the bumper of your car.Anybody that has seen one or knows anything about these please let me know. Here is a picture of it. It is about 3 inches in diameter and is made of metal. Info wanted Thanks Roy

Come On! Certainly some of you senior shooters/hunters have seen this at some time? Any NRA historians out there?

I wonder just how old that thing really is? I have the Rifleman from 1936 to the present date, and I don't remember seeing anything about it. I have a ton of reloading to do, but if I get time, I'll look through some of the fifties copies. I'm pretty sure it wasn't in the sixties magazines. What you might do is take a regular picture and send it to the NRA and see if they remember. Sure don't look like yours ever rode on a bumper.

Question

Thanks PJ!, No I dont think my uncle had ever installed this on his car. The condition is too good no weathering at all.Possibly it was custom made and not issued by the NRA but I doubt that!
