Evan, you need abt 200 X to see the deer.

Evan,
I was talking to my son-in-law today abt his star gazeing telescope. He said that at 2 mi. he could see birds setting on a power line and could tell that they were sparrows and that was about it. I figure that a telescope like that should let you see where the deer are and what they are doing. He has a very good quality scope though and I doubt that a cheap one would do what you want.
