First class dipstick

So I'm in Gander mtn today to drop of a shotgun to be fixed. While waiting in line there's a guy wanting to buy a pistol. Something comes up on the instacheck that says he can't. So he turns to his buddy, right there in front of everyone, and says "Why don't you buy it for me." Everyone in line looks at this clown like Duh, ya can't do that. When the clerk explains that they can't do that, they try to tell the clerk that his buddy really does want to buy a pistol. So the clerk explains that they would be better off going elsewhere. What an idgit. Looked like a doofus too with the 5 earrings in one ear and multicolored hair.

If the clerk has any brains, he'll call the BATF or local law ASAP. I believe he's required to report attempted "straw man" purchases.

Besides, this might have been a BATF "test" to see if the store/clerk WOULD either sell or fail to report. The BATF DOES do stings like that!

A hunting buddy of mine owns a jewelry shop downtown in a large city and he also has a Federal Firearms License. Guns are a very small percentage of his business and it's really a pain for him, but he stays in it because he likes firearms. The city has tried to get him out of the gun business - not because there's ever been a problem - they just don't want a gun shop in their city. He does not even stock ammunition to help prevent problems.

A couple years ago a couple guys came in and wanted him to sell them something, I can't remember the details but it wasn't legal and my friend refused. They got very mad and borderline hostile. My buddy stood firm and they left.

Later on he recognized one of them on TV, he was a local investigative reporter doing an undercover story on how easy it is for thugs to get guns illegally. My friend's shop was never mentioned.

You didn't actually expect fair play from the press did you? I rank these kind of journalists right up there with lawyers. Todays journalists no longer wish to report the news. They want to make the news, by hook or crook. Just listen hard to television reporters, and you'll get my drift. It's sad really. Best wishes.

People want to blame guns for everything....how about motor vehicles? Geez, they cause 100 times more deaths and are scrutinized much less.

BATF

Hey Nulle...tyhey bagged up a local salesman for a gun shop. Did the sting thing and he just let it go. Bagged him right up. Did time too. Maybe it wasn't the first time.
