PPK Carry Condition

What would be the best but ready and safe carry condition for a Walther PPK?

If I'm not mistaken, the PPK is a DA handgun, so carrying with one in the chamber is entirely safe. Safety on or off, now that is something that's totally up to you. It won't fire itself with the safety off, but it's a small gun so leaving the safety on shouldn't make it any slower to draw, because you can easilly reach the safety to disengage. I myself prefer leaving a safety on at all times, but that's just me.

PPK

I've carried a PPK-s .380 for 20 years. Its safe, but fast, with the hammer down on a loaded chamber. The thumb safety can be released as you draw.

Fortunately, I've never had to use it for self defense.

Most PPK's have a loaded chamber indicator pin right above the hammer.
