Exclamation Extensive bullet testing

http://www.seahook.com/bestbullet.jpg

Check out the link. Beware if you are on dialup, it may take a while. The file is big, if it comes up compressed to fit on one page, it's unreadable. Click the page and a box should come up to zoom in. This guy tested many of today's bullets under controlled conditions. See where your favorite is.

Two things jump out at me immediately:

1. Two of the most consistent bullets in the test were the Barnes X and the Rem CoreLokt. To have a premium AND a standard factory ammo bullet perform this way is astounding.

2. The results of the Sierra MatchKing are going to rile some folks who post here. The totally inconsistent behavior of these bullets (from complete fragmentation to no effect at all) shows that they should not be used on game. That's what the Sierra engineers have always said, but not what some hunters say. I'll not defend either side, but the test does raise eyebrows.

Oh, and the file downloads as a JPEG. On my 'pooter, it took ten minutes (56K) and showed as a screen-sized and unreadable image - until I clicked on it, and then it expanded to readable. I could scroll around and read it fine, but it's a bit hard to keep track of all the rows and columns that way. I saved it to disk for later study.
