Legislative Section
I would suggest that a separate section for member to post important current legislative issues affecting our shooting sports. it could alert shooters to action necessary to get legislation passed or defeated.

Bluedot, I'll put it to Petey, but I personally believe that such a section would rapidly devolve into a political pissing pit.
We've stayed away from political forums for as long as we've been open, and I truly believe that it's one reason why we've also managed to stay a friendly and flameless board. There are also numerous other sources for such bulletins, not the least of which are NRA-ILA email alerts. All you have to do is sign up for them - assuming you are an NRA member. And if you think you're concerned about the politics of guns but aren't an NRA member, you aren't really concerned.

That is one reason that we shooting sportsmen are an endangered species...too many of us want to put our heads in the sand and let George do it!
As for Hunting and the NRA-ILA, they do not consider hunting legislation as one of their priorities! This from the NRA-ILA Headquarters rep this morning via telephone! NRA-ILA e-mail alerts do not allow for input from members such as shooting forum bulletin boards !

Well, while I certainly didn't mean to get your back up, that short exchange just might be the perfect illustration of my point: even mentioning politics gets folks hot under the collar!
Whether we have a Legislative Forum or not, those who want to allow others to do all the work (or fighting) will sit back and do nothing. Those who wish to be active will do so on their own initiative - again whether we have a forum for it or no. That being the case, HuntChat has nothing to gain and all of our tempers to lose by creating such a forum. And that's been my personal opinion from day one. I thank you for both your dedication and the suggestion, BlueDot.

Too bad for your subscribers, but I guess it is your forum. A place to post current legislation would be informational only and there would be nothing to discuss. Too many shooters are unaware of what is going on with the lawmakers and are also unaware of how to provide input to those lawmakers.
Oh well, Your call!

Too many hunters are unaware??????????
Bluedot....Perhaps those "too many unaware hunters" should get off their uninformed butts and go joinn the NRA or something.
I mean when you consider almost 300,000,000 people here and the NRA has about 5,000,000 members. No wonder we gotta worry about Hilary and her crew!!!!
