anyone have their ffl

i didnt see a better place to post this question so i will put it here- for all you fellas that do have your ffl - i had my ffl about 15 yrs ago and i had a small convenience store - i never sold a gun or owned very few that i kept at home but my reason for wanting my ffl was to buy cheaper for myself or family - well i never bought with the ffl and never sold and had them for a couple of years - well one day a batf lady came in the store and wanted to see my stuff - well i had no stuff or guns and i told her i planned on using the ffl for myself and at some time i may buy and sell but didnt plan on doing it anytime soon - she said i really didnt need them and i gave them to her - well that was a long time ago and i am not really sure why i gave them up so easy except i was a full time student with part time job and a store to run i guess that is why i just handed her the ffl without question anyhow - things are much different now and i THINK i wouldnt mind having them again - but only for buying for myself or family and not really a business - its ok if they want to visit me and see my stuff that is fine but tell me what your thoughts are as far as using them for myself and how much headache it is to have them and will they save a fella some money if i only buy 2 or 3 guns a year- after the initial 200 bucks it only cost what to renew and keep them 30 yr or im not sure but what do you think
