Well, maybe one more thing: a stuck case remover is cheap when you buy it before you need it!

Yep, I'll agree with the stuck case remover being cheaper if you buy it before you need it. First case I ever went to reload, I got stuck in the die. That really sucked because I didn't have a case puller.
Rocky, can I buy Imperial Sizing Die Wax from Cabelas or Outdoor World? If not, where can I get it? I have been using RCBS lube and I don't really like that stuff.

Redding just bought the rights to the Imperial line. They'll probably be calling it Redding Wax or something. But a Google search should bring you several sources.
338, there are two kinds of stuck case removers. One of them works just as you described. The problem is that not all sizer dies allow you to remove the decapper stem from the top. The second type of case remover tackles that kind of die. With that style, you drill out and tap the primer pocket, then use a bolt and a special spacer to unscrew the stuck case. It'll work on both types of sizer die, BTW. In an emergency, a guy with a good tool chest could cobble up one of these. A drill bit, a thread tap, large washer and a big nut or nut socket would work.

Ah yes Rocky, something akin to a gear or wheel puller. The freezer may be of some help in a not TOO bad situation. The one case I stuck a few years ago came out rather easily with a tap on a thin brass rod through the decapper stem hole in the top after a disciplinary visit to the arctic regions of my food storage area. Nearly an hour worked for me, I had other stuff to do. I just got it ready to tap out, set it in the cold and did a few other things that needed done, stuck my tongue to it to test the chill factor, (just kidding), screwed the die into the press and one sharp rap on a brass rod with a small hammer popped the case right out.

...Imperial sizing die wax is great. When you see the size of the can, don't go crazy and buy a case...a little goes a long way. I am still using out of the first can I ever bought. I do have a new can on the shelf in case I ever do use up the first can. It comes in a little round can like shoe polish. Try it.
