Anyone use a 2 blade fixed broadhead?
I have been playing around shooting the Slicer 100 grain 2 blade broadheads with some great accuracy. Anyone ever shot something with a 2 blade broadhead, and if so what were your experiences with its killing ability, bloadtrail, etc. Thank you.

2 blade fixed broadhead
yep, i use them ... zwickey, magnus, ribtec and grizzlies ...
i shot a wild morena sheep with a zwickey and it totally severed the spine and stuck in a rib on the inside after deflecting ... i also inavertently shot one thru the head with a zwickey (it moved just as i released) ... completly passing thru the entire head ... where the solid fixed blades have a brutal , seemingly cold efficiency to them, somewhat akin to a bayonet or lance, they must be kept shaving sharp ... i've shot them completely thru catalina goats and coyote sized using lighter poundage bows (40-45lbs) they do work ... but again make sure they are shaving sharp and it should go without saying, placed properly ...

Thanks Don. Ever use them on game the size of deer? I was wondering about their put down power. I have been shooting them with great accuracy but was a little concerned about their cutting ability and knock down power so to speak.

I used them a long time ago cause they came with the old jennings i was given. They do fine on blood trail and i got pass thru chest shots without alot of poundage on the old jennings. If you are shooting good groups with them you'll be fine on deer.
I shot two adult does with 2 blades and they both dropped within 100 yards after impact.

I get really good groups with them, better than any other broadhead I shoot. I appreciate your feedback Jmarriott.

Magnus
I've used them and I prefer them (fixed two blade - cut on contact). I use them on fast shooting compounds and longbows. That would be the magnus 100 gr screw in. Use them on deer and moose........a correct shot placement will pass through on moose. Magnus review on my site.

I've had good luck with the Magnus. The two blade will do the job, if they are sharp and well placed, on anything you would hunt. I did find that using the bleeder blades significantly increased the eased of trailing. I shot two mulies that you could trail, easily seeing the blood trail from 10 feet away.

I've never used them myself, but a buddy used them with the exact same bow set up I had. He held tighter groups usually, and the couple of deer he took with them worked great. One deer I observed him shoot was about 60 yrds from me. The deer did a little jump and walked off to stand directly under me. I would have swore he missed. As I was drawing back to put my shot on her, she started to wobble and fell over. That deer never new what hit her.

Sounds good. The bleeder blades I have seen on the 2 blade fixed seem pretty weak. Do the "bleeder blades" change the shot of the broadheads significantly once installed? Thanks all. I just am shooting them so well that I am really excited about them. I like the Muzzy's but I am having such good groupings that I want to stick with them.

do you need to use a strait fletch?
To keep them impacting in the vertical positon so they would slide between the ribs? Just a thought I have never shoot them.

If anything, the bleeder blades may have added a little stability. I wouldn't use straight fletching, unless going to maybe a four fletch. I think the spin gives the arrow needed stability. Others may have a different opinion on this. Don't worry about the ribs. They seem to find thier way between them, and I've seen on a couple of deer where they sliced through them.
