PITA in the hood

I know I am a little off course as this deals with fishing---but---pita filed a complaint with the Md governors office to stop fishing for striped bass in the state (Chesapeake Bay) because they say the fish feel too much pain when hooked. They say a fish is as intellegent as a dog or cat and has a well developed brain and are not healthy to eat. The governors office said they will look into the matter. What next?

I hope you are right, but even if not. I think there are enough HARD CORE Rock fisherman in MD that PETA will be fighting a losing battle

I am sure that almost every animal and fish out there feels pain. Heck, how do we know that a blade of grass doesn't feel pain when we step on it?

There is no way that they will ban Rockfishing in Maryland because people would be up in arms. Plus, it sets a pretty tough precedent because if Rockfish can feel pain, I would assume that all other fish can feel pain. Quite honestly, I would prefer to be hooked in the lip and pulled around for a little, versus being shot. I guess they are starting from the bottom up. If they can get this passed against fishing, hunting should be easy.

People do not have enough to worry about. This country is really starting to get pathetic. We should hand these idiots a rifle and drop them in the middle of Iraq.

Iraq?? Rifle??

Heck Fabs,
They don't need a rifle. They are everybody's friend. Nobody would even think of hurting these people. The world is a different place for them than the one I live in. They would be able to talk to the terrorists and make them see reason.! yeah, right!! And as far as the grass feeling pain when we walk on it....Holy Crap!!! How bout when we cut it???

Skeet,

I would put the rifle in their hands so that they have a choice to make. That would screw with their mind even more. After the first one gets shot, the others can either pray or decide to start shooting back.
