ducks ducks and more ducks

I just returned from a dissappointing fishing trip to South Dakota. The good news is they have more water that they know what to do with. Rain, rain and more rain, every field has a puddle and every puddle has at least a pair of mallards on it. I saw teal, shovelers, geese, coots and a whole bunch of others. That's in addition to bunches and bunches sitting on normal potholes. Fishing sucked because of the storms but it was surew nice to see all those mallards. Gives me hope. (slim, but hope non-the less.)

I have seen more mallards flying around here mating than I saw ducks during the hunting season. I too am hoping that this year is better than last year. Then again, I'll probably be able to hunt more, so that is a start.
