Talking Lilred's 14 days of hell-1 good day of fishin

Well folks, I reckon I'm gonna make it..whew..have had one heckuva past 2 weeks!
My English Pointer, Wild Woman, wound up pregnant by the POS neighbor's mutt, and she had trouble havin her pups. Had to take her to the vet fer a c-section, she had 12 pups. They were all put down (half-breeds are just pitiful, but I knew nobody would take them all, and they would probaly wind up on a roadside by an uncaring owner anyways..so I best thought they would be better off never havin to go through that. Not to mention the fact that Wild Woman wouldnt have nary a thing to do w/ those pups ). $600 later (which the neighbors should be payin..the sorry POS's) she is in the house recovering..and well on her way too, she gits her stitches out next week.

I was supposed to git all of my wisdom teeth out last week. After recoverin from a bout of the brochitis and bein on antibiotics, we scheduled the appt, and the oral surgeon put me on another antibiotic to clear up any possible infection on the gums fore surgery. Well, the combination of the 2 aint mix too good. (The first was omnicef and the next, penicillin potassium vk er some crap)..and Lilred left werk one day sicker than a dog and I wound up in the hospital. After I got home from that, I spent 4 days in bed and couldnt friggin move.

Well, all better now..and we have had it with all this crap that's been goin on...so I surprised my hubby w/ a fishin trip fer father's day. No kids, no dogs, just us, the river, a big ole cooler and some good fishin w/ the hoot owls.
I took him to the swingin bridge (which I have pics of). We did perty good, I caught one BIG ole eel, he was almost as long as me, caught a few nice cats and some pike. I lost one heckuva cat early on in the day. Got him clean up to the bank and lost the fool thing. Makes it even werse when you seen the dern thing, realize how big it is, and then lose it. What a show of excessive gooberism...We camped there overnight, but at 3am..it started pourin the rain..so we woke up and went home soakin wet and smellin like worm guts, chicken livers and deet LOL

Today..we're restin up and I got some pics to share today...hopefully things'll calm down a bit and I can git on the board more often. Now that I said that...with my luck..there'll be hell to pay fer even thinkin such a thing LOL ...good Lordy..

Anyways..here's the first pic of the bridge....perty aint it?

Lilred, sorry to hear about your bad luck. Sounds like you gave hubby the perfect fathers day gift- and that stream-wow-makes me homesick. Be careful when you do get those wisdom teeth pulled. My son had it done two weeks ago after pre antibiotics and still got an infection after they pulled the teeth and swelled his eyes shut. better now though.

Nice shot of the stream/crik(?). But not too keen on the lack of a handrail on the bridge. Still I guess that is unnecessary if the weather's warm to hot,and you're not wearing your Southern Belle finery. WB

A man shouldn't have to make those choices. No children, nice secluded, isolated, shady fishing spot, and the wife.....

Glad y'all had a great time.

Actually, that there is a river..as you can see it's down a bit..but it's the Willis River, which flows from the Appomatox and the James. I caught 2 smallmouth, 3 pike, about a dozen big bream, 3 eels, 3 cats, a largemouth and a gar outta there lol...it has a variey of fish in it. Oh, and a snappin turtle too.
It used to be alot better bout 10 yrs ago. In it's heyday..you could catch cats all day weighin 10 lbs er better. Aint the biggest cats in the world..but it balances itself out not seein nary another person er vehicle fer 2 days straight... not to mention the scenery and the wildlife. We seen a derned ole possum crossin the bridge bout 10 pm lol

Iffin ya look real close, you can barely see the hog wire that is the ole bridge's handrail so to speak. It runs the length of the bridge. The water there is bout 5 ft deep.

Rubicon..I have been hearin horror stories of them wisdom teeth..I'm bout as nervous as a hoe in church over the whole thing..but I'll reschedule soon and git it over with. Hope yer son is doin better..they say its better when you git em out when yer young..well..I'm OLD..with my 31 yr old self..and the doc says they're rooted good...dear Lord..I gotta git this over with..er I'll be worth bout as much as a 1 legged man in a but kickin contest....

HEY LADY

SEEMS LIKE EVERYTIME YOU AND I TALK IT'S ABOUT MEDICINE. DON'T WANT TO RATTLE YOUR SLATS BUT IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOU HAD AN ALLERGIC REACTION TO THE DRUGS YOU WERE TAKING. IF I WERE YOU I'D GET CHECKED OUT. I'M ALLERGIC TO PENICILLIN.

GEE, WORM GUTS, CHICKEN LIVERS AND DEET, SOUNDS LIKE MY KINDA GAL. HAVE YOU GOT ANY OLDER SISTERS?

THAT SURE IS A PRETTY PLACE WHERE YOU FISH. I USED TO LOVE THE WOODS, BUT AFTER LIVING ON THE PRAIRIE SO LONG I GET CLAUSTROPHOBIA BEING IN A WOODS.

ANY TIME YOU GET TIRED OF THAT LITTLE CUTIE PIE YOU CAN SEND HER TO ME. SHE IS A SWEETHEART. REMINDS ME OF MY FIRST DAUGHTER, RED HAIR AND ALL. COURSE SHES 45 NOW.

WHY IS IT WHEN YOU GET OLD YOU START GETTING A REAL HANKERING FOR KIDS AND DOGS. A FEW WEEKS AGO I WENT DOWN TO STURGIS AND PICKED UP A DOG FROM NULLE. HE IS A GERMAN WIRE HAIR. HE'S BEEN A GOOD DOG SO FAR. BUT HE IS A CHARMER AND A CON MAN.

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF LADY, GET STRONG BEFORE THE TEETH REMOVAL. I GUARANTEE YOU WON'T BE EATING FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER. IT'S HARD TO GET A T BONE A STRAW.

Lilred, glad to see you back. Real pretty pictures, made me homesick. Sorry to hear about your troubles, especially teeth troubles. Had my wisdom teeth pulled along time ago and it really was no big deal for me, but my son had his pulled about a month ago and he kept having phantom toothaches afterwards that were pretty severe. He finally got some of that toothache gel from Wal Mart and that seemed to help and he's doing real good now. Keep in mind Lilred, you're going to lose your wisdom once they are gone, so anything you need wisdom about you might want to write down now. Oh by the way, that little one is sure growing up to be a pretty one. You take good care of her hear. Write that one down for sure.
