Last Saturday's hunt
Myself, Ol’spark and a buddy made it out last Saturday shooting groundhogs. I was fine tuning my drop chart for the 7 Ultra and I’m pretty happy with the performance so far. My buddy got 2 shots with Tommy and about 8 with my RUM.
Tommy missed one at 992 yards by no more than 6”s. That old hog ran like the devil for his hole and never came back out the rest of the day. Boy, I would have liked to have been over there to hear that bullet coming. My first shot with the 7 Rum was at 599 yards missing to the right. I needed about 3 more clicks for wind. Once we got the wind figured out my next shot killed a hog at 530. The rest of the morning was spent watching my buddy fire rounds off at hogs as close as 300 and as far as 600. I’m more than pleased with the results and finding my BC is a little better than what was published am getting around 5 or so less clicks at 450 and beyond. Here’s a few photos of the shots. The first pic reminds me of the farm where I missed my 400 yard hog and where I passed up on a shot that was close to the farm owner's house.
Good hunting Petey.
