nice gun

This is one time I really wish I had a digital camera. On tuesday evening, at my skeet club, a fella brought out a gun that we were allowed to shoot. It was a Parker 20ga. skeet gun, it had 11 gold engravings and has to be the most beautiful gun I've ever had the privilage to hold. The value was $31,000. This is one of those things I would want everyone to be able to hold just once in their shooting life, let alone be allowed to shoot.
The gentleman who owns it was injured in a car accident several years ago and later had a stroke and he can no longer shoot. He still enjoys watching and dealing in fine guns. I can't tell you how many nice guns he has brought out for us to see and shoot. I feel lucky to be allowed.
Just had to share this with someone.

Yea, they are beautiful. No matter what the cost, I've always looked at it like I will use all of mine, just not abuse them. Over time they do get beat up a bit, but I've got the enjoyment of using them. Of course, a strictly skeet gun shouldn't get beat up too bad.

So tj, did you buy it? Would like to see a pic someday if maybe one of your friends has a digital, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

BUY IT??? I couldn't afford it if I sold my first born, and hocked my house, and I thought of that. Andy wouldn't sell anyway, once they make his collection they're there for the duration. I just feel lucky to be able to handle/shoot one on occasion.
I wish you'd tell my skeet gun that it wasn't supposed to get all that wear on it.

TJ,

If I'm not mistaken, your skeet gun is a Browning. If that is the case, it just cannot help getting all that wear on it. LOL

I look forward to the day when I can put a $31,000 gun in my collection. Right now I am trying to buy a $4,000 Beretta with the fancy engraving. I have been looking at some of the really pretty Krieghoffs, but they are way out of my league right now.

Nice Guns

I really like nice shotguns myself. I've had a few but someone always wanted them more than I did....so I sold most of them. Getting ready to sell the Ithaca 28 ga SxS I have...22,500. Just have to let it go for that kind of money.

Hey Fabs...for twice the 4000 I have a really nice Krieghoff..screw chokes...Kolar tube set for the small gauges...adjustable comb on the stock and decent wood...all in a nice Americase. You would never have to look at another one of those B guns again.. Do it Fabs...do it!!....oh..it also has a really nice Gold target top lock cover. a grand just for that.....and I can bring it to PG on Wednesday night for ya . BUY IT FABS!! hehehe

Ya Fabs, buy it !! I always say, it's easier to spend your moolah than mine. Maybe one of these years I'll move from the B guns up to the K or P guns, but on the other hand, 8k or so is a lot of rounds of birds.

Thanks Skeet, but I'll have to pass on that right now. It is tough enough trying to save for the $4,000 Beretta gun, not to be confused with the other B gun, Browning. Trying to save for a Krieghoff will be a little much, but you can bet that I will start to price some of the Krieghoffs new. I have my eye set on two of them with the fancy engraving, but I am scared to find out how much a gun like that costs.

GEEEZ, I CAN SHOOT LOTS OF BIRDS, CLAY AND REAL WITH MY GRANDPAS WINCHESTER MODEL 12. I BELIEVE HE PAID $39.95 FOR IT. IT DOESN'T HAVE MUCH BLUE LEFT AND THE FURNITURE IS A LITTLE TATTERED, BUT OTHER THAN THAT SHE STILL SHOOTS PERFECT. TALK ABOUT SMOOOOTH.

BY THE WAY, MY FATHER WILLING IT TO ME, ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS.

MY FIRST HUNT OF THE SEASON IS ALWAYS WITH GRANDPAS GUN.

I'M GOING TO HAVE IT REWORKED IN A FEW YEARS AND PASS IT ON TO MY GRANDSON, WILLIAM THE 3RD. OR AS WE CALL HIM, WILLIAM THE TURD. SERIOUSLY, HE'S A GOOD KID, WE JUST RAZZ HIM THAT'S ALL.
