Question I WON!!! Who wants to help spend it?

I won.....AGAIN!!! This is the second Internet contest that I have been "chosen" a winner of. I'm still waiting for the money to show on the last one but I'm certain I'll get it...after all, I gave them all my credit card and bank account information as they requested.

Any suggestions on what I can do with all this money, pretty soon I won't have any space to store it all!

Are you sure that's all you need? Bridges can be pretty expensive to buy and maintain. According to my newfound lottery friends, I should have enough to buy and maintain "many" bridges!

By the way, Blktail.....are you familiar with Galliano Island up in your neck of the woods? My Sister bought a house on the island a few months ago and is after me to go up and hang out. How's the fishing up there? What else is there for a hunting/fishing guy like me to do?

Galliano Island

Galliano used to be primarily forest company land, but was recently logged and parcelled off to real estate companies. Hunting used to be excellent for Blacktails, but finding a place you would be welcome to hunt now would be tough. The Gulf Islands in general tend to be filled with NIMBY's, Artsy types, hippy wannabe's and rich foreigners (including Americans). Locals have been all but pushed out of local politick and their children have to leave the Islands because they can't afford to buy property. It's kind of like Aspen Colorado or Whistler BC. I have not been to Galliano yet (even though I can see it if I walk up the hill behind my house), but I think it is less developed than many of the other islands.

There is excellent salmon fishing in the area and trout fishing on nearby Vancouver Island. Hunting on Vancouver Island is spotty for deer and excellent for bear. Elk are by lottery only. I beleive you need to be guided in order to hunt. I hunt deer on Saltspring next door to Galliano.

Scenery in the area is in comparable.

Get your but up here if you can!

BINGO!!! There's my sister! The only bleeding heart liberal in the family. I love my Sis but it doesn't surprise me one bit that they would flee our country when it came time for retirement. My Brother-in-Law just retired in June from a position as a High School Principal in the Public School System here in California. My Sis is an elementary school teacher and nearing her retirement. They have been visitors on Galiano for years and years escaping there several times a year whenever they had a break from school that lasted more than 3 days. My BiL has his Doctorate in English Literature and also was a Professor at a local Community College. They go to Galiano, sit around and read books....and my sister paints. They are both hippies turned professional as they both attended University of California at Santa Barbara back during the hey day of the late 60's, early '70's when the hippies burned the town of Isla Vista (well, a B of A Bank) , a college student community. I'm not certain if one of them had the matches though.

My BiL is fit but a little kooky. He thinks I should be in BC because I'm a Pilot, I hunt, I fish, I kayak, etc. These are all things he has amazing interest in yet he pursues none....he reads and visits bookstores........and my sister paints.....you get the picture!

It is very likely that we will make a trip up there soon so if I do I will drop you a line for some more info on what to do and perhaps I can buy you a Beer....or whatever it is you folks drink up there!

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Sounds like your sis & BiL will fit right in on the Gulf Islands. It is a bit of paradise!

Tater, let's pool our winnings and buy a whole bunch of bridges. We could be self proclaimed Bridge Barons!

The Netherlands have many bridges for sale, and since that is where this contest is from they may 'throw in a bridge'

FYI..............in the Netherlands the scams are not illegal. The Dutch government feels if you are dumb enough to give all your info you deserve to loose your retirement.

Mr Schoot, the pride of Ansterdam, is not rare, when I used to subscribe to TIME (European) and National Geographic, the distribution center was in The Netherlands. I didn't check the box saying 'don't send me crap' so I got a dozen notices of 'You've won!'.........'You are a finalist'.........................and 'Gee your not so dumb, but we still want to steal your credit card number!'

They send you very-very impressave looking papers and envelops, and even send you flyers of suggestions on how to spend your winnings! (Well gee........thanks for the tip!)

Fabs,
It looks like you hit the Jackpot....BIG TIME! For a nominal fee, Tater and I will let you in on our new Bridge Holdings firm. With your added capital we could certainly corner the market on bridge ownership in the US and possibly even foriegn territories.

To get in on the bottom floor of this excellent investment opportunity, please forward your bank account and credit card information to me so I can get you set up.

I've figured out a sure way to get rich quick. One could go to Nigeria (or sometimes the Caribbean) and charge a fee to teach these jokers how to write American English.

What I find truly disturbing is that the people who fall for scams like these are also entitled to vote and own firearms.
