Squirrels are really cutting on hickory nuts
I slipped out squirrel hunting this morning and the squirrels are really cutting on hickory nuts right now. It came a pretty hard rain yesterday afternoon late and this morning it was nice and cool, and it was very still. They didn't start cutting until about 9:00 and then the woods just came alive. Seemed like they were everywhere. I shot 3 as fast as I could and never made a move. Had a very enjoyable hunt. I think I'm going to take a day off next Friday and try it again.

Congrats on the hunt. I noticed the other day around here they are stripping pine cones pretty durned fast.
