first season

hey,

This is my first hunting season coming up. I just passed hunters ed in January, got my first gun (a .35 remington), got my first hunting clothes last week and today got my first tag and hunting license. Man I am jacked to go hunting I cant wait. Any tips on anything to do about hunting? I also cant wait to go bird hunting, man I am excited for my first hunts this year.

P.S-

This is .35 remington. I just got a different name because I couldnt remember my password and the site wouldnt send me my password for some reason.

Good for you! I bet you have a great time.

Hunting is much more successful, and fun, when you have several people cooperating.

Deer will have favorite spots where they like to live. Spend a lot of time scouting, and/or talking with the locals to locate some of these spots.

Most critters we like to hunt have very sensitive noses. With the wind at your back, you'll have a hard time finding anything.

Your 35 Rem is quite capable, but I think you'll want to limit your shots to 150 yards or so. It throws a pretty good slug, but not very fast.

There is absolutely nothing like being on a hunt. My wife asks why I don't just go tromping around in the woods with the guys, instead of trying to shoot something. It's an entirely different experience, and hard to explain.
