Hurricanes Suck!!!
Well I survived hurricane Katrina. We evacuated to poplarville, Mississsippi. We knew there would be alot of wind but the water wouldn't be a concern in the hills. And as we predicted the wind was bad in fact we got into the eye of katrina. Any way my uncle lost a piece of the roof on his new house. They had no water for 5 days and still no electricity. We cut our way out and got home about 7 hours later ( 1 and a half hours usually). We had no power for about 10 days not sure as we have all kind of lost track of days. Damage in st. charles parish isn't bad. The wind came through at 120 MPH and we have alot of trees down. Alligator season has been delayed and deer season will be screwed up.
But we are all safe and thats all that matters. Just 20 miles away people are alot worse off. |

Good on ya, friend. I'm sure we're all breathing a (gentle!) sigh of relief for you.

Its good to start hearing from some of the folks that live in the area. I have had calls recently from my relatives in Houma, Franklin, and Baton Rouge. All made it through just fine.
Course we got Katrina first here in Miami, and other than 3 days with no electric, and the loss of 160 feet of back yard fence, we did ok.
