Ok I am on remote control now
I am so sick of this hurricane crap...I can hardly talk about it...it effects everything, absolutely every aspect of your life, food, work, schools, local government....gas stations, grocery stores...I can go on and on....what crap..
then they are gonna hit me hard in the pocket for insurance, code enforcements....when will it end...I have been here all my life and have never seen these kind of seasons....

Val and Hurricanes
Hi Val...I do understand what you are talking of. It must be worse there than here in Md...but we have some bull to go through because of the same hurricanes.. Anyway...I don't know if I really believe in global warming...but I must say with the number of people in the world..we must have a negative affect on the weather. The scientists are predicting more and more nasty storms in the world and it seems to be coming true... Nasty Looonnnggg hot summers(been miserable here this summer..no rain for 6 weeks where I live) and short but very cold winters. Our spring sucked...long and chilly. Fall is the only time that seems to be almost normal...except The trees are just starting to change colors a little bit here. In the late 50's early sixties the trees were in a major coloration by now with the majority gone by the 15th of October. Not that way here now. Leaves till the middle of November I think we are really doing bad things to dear ol Mother Earth. Hang in there kiddo and look for a place to move to without all the nasty hurricanes

It's almost funny, Val.
When I was a city councilman (really!) up in Satellite Beach, we went to conference after conference about hurricane preparedness. Except that there hadn't been a hurricane hitting Florida in decades. It was almost IMPOSSIBLE to get the public to take them seriously. Then, we had Hurricane David (1983?) and it was barely a Cat 1. That made it even worse, because the people who evacuated the barrier islands were laughed at for being timid. I moved away in 1985, knowing in my heart that if a big one ever did hit, it would likely kill hundreds - or worse. Then came Andrew. Since then...well, you know. At least it would be darn hard to find anyone but a really new Florida resident (and a moronic one at that) who doesn't take the things seriously.

Skeet remember the El nino (spelling) cycles...they say we are in one for the next twenty years...I heard that somewhere...and that we can look forward to these kinds of things for that long...but at the same time...it was mentioned this has been going on thousands of years...and not to correlate the global warming thing to much...and that if you took man and his so called communities out of the equation...these disasters are just part of nature....and the cycles of nature....

Science or Revelations???
![]() ![]() I know this will get pooh poohed, but science, skeet, or Revalations? Fire, flood, etc..... McPat Well McPat...if you have studied Revelations that well I guess we'd better hope it is science.. The story of Revelations is somewhat ...chilling...or whatever!! ![]() ![]() Val..I know what they say about El Nino...and la Nina But things have never been like the way they are lately ...at least in the last 100 yrs. The only reason we don't have more death like they did in the past is because we have much better weather reporting...we know what is coming. Remember Galveston Tx?? If they had known it was coming...they really would have left the city. Heck now the government makes people leave..... most of the ones who stayed in N O were the ones who had NEVER been responsible for anyone in their entire lives....not even responsible for themselves. They had always relied on the government to take care of them. well the city and state governments failed them for certain this time. The Federal government did their duty in a timely manner(even if people don't think they did). Boy oh boy...I hope it ain't Revelations.... I think I been a bad boy for too long!! ![]() ![]()
