sometimes its hard to contain yourself

since i bought my 220 #1 a good freind of mine also decided to pick one up. hes an older guy into #1s anyways. he decided to get one after shooting mine with factory ammo.

i havent loaded near as much as him or have the exsperince as he does.

hes loading imr4831 and getting exeptional groups at 100. my imr 4350groups were so so compared to his but still very good.

we went out shooting today. loads i brewd this morning. new powder new primers.

primers are federal 215 mag primers. powder is h380. decided to try this because ive heard good results in the 22/250 and 220.

i found max loads of h380 at about 42.5s. decided to start well below that because im running mag primers

all loads are pushn 55gr naked vmaxes(not coated)

had barrel warmed up with my imr4350loads. shot one group then let him shoot.

then to the h30
first load 39grs 4 rds. hes watchn and can tell im not to impressed. load acuracy wise was no better than my acurate imr4350 if that acurate. hard tell with one group.

39.5 groups get alittle better. but not much.

40grs im shooting at 1" oranged dots with a very small diamond in the center. 1st rd goes. bout 1/4" over the center of the diamond and center left and right on the dot. bought perfect. 2nd rnd. i cant for the life of me tell were it went through the 18power scope. 3rd. i see this one im getting exscited. hes watching im not saying a word. 4th round the thoughts running through my head. im thinking sink it sink it. i wanted to lose the last rd inside the 3 well the group looked more like 2. squeezed off the 4th rd and about lost. i couldnt hardly control myself. i wanted to jump up and down. iwas literaly toungue tied. we walked up to look at it and it had formed perfect little cluster. of 3 didnt quite sink the 4th but dang close.

how sweet it is.

man i love reloading.

i did load to 42grs of h380 but none where near as acurate as the 40gr load.

after that i wanted to just burn up my im4350 loads so i had something to load in. the other day i decided to load most all of the 4350 i had left. ive got about 40rds of that load.

these loads today were on cases that had been loaded twice already, this was theyre 3rd time. i thought i ruptured one but i didnt, my eyes must have been playing with me.

h380 all the way baby. lol

good night all

Evan

Evan,
I never just burn up the rest of a can of powder unless there less than 10 rounds or so in it. Just leave it on the shelf and you`ll probibly own another gun in the near future that you`ll want to try it in and you`ve got some on hand.
