MT archery 'lope

I hunted pretty hard early season, but couldn't get it done before I had a fishing trip in WI. I ended up shooting this little guy the morning I left for Alaska. He is a dink, but it was my first archery 'lope and it is a punched tag and memory.

I even got to share the experience with my favorite hunting buddy.

That is a great picture.

How did you get to take your dog along?

I have training my dog to run the lopes until they tire, then I go up and take the easy shot. Actually he was in th pick-up and I brought him along when I went to the get a sled. I was only a few hundred yards from the road at the time.

Nothing wrong with that one.. and with a bow to boot.

Should be a 'few' pounds of tasty meat!
