Thumbs down New James Bond: "I Hate Guns"

Did you expect any less.
It's amazing that actors with such strong feelings against guns and violence won't think twice to make a buck off a flick containing the same.
Sounds hypocritical to me.

New Bond: I hate guns

Daniel Craig will have a problem playing the new James Bond - because he hates guns.

The actor will wield 007's famous Walther PPK in the movie Casino Royale.

But he revealed in OK! magazine: "I hate handguns. Handguns are used to shoot people and as long as they are around, people will shoot each other.

"That's a simple fact. I've seen a bullet wound and it was a mess. It was on a shoot and it scared me. Bullets have a nasty habit of finding their target and that's what's scary about them."

Nor does the 37-year-old share Bond's love of Martinis shaken and stirred.

"I love a Martini straight up. I don't think anybody makes a Martini stirred any more," he said.

Craig was unveiled earlier this month as the successor to Pierce Brosnan.
He will play a tougher, grittier 007 in Casino Royale, which is based on Ian Fleming's first Bond book.

The movie is due for release in November next year.

Craig is not the first Bond to reveal a hatred of guns.

Roger Moore, who played the superspy from 1973 to 1985, said after quitting the role that he hated "that awful pose" of Bond with his gun which has become an iconic movie image.

The actor later became an ambassador for children's charity Unicef and declared: "Today I am completely opposed to small arms and what they can do to children. I played every role tongue-in-cheek because I don't really believe in that sort of hero. I don't like guns."

They're all happy to take home paychecks made from movies with guns in them, but then they get off on this tripe. This guy will last as long as George Lazenby...

la la land won't see any of my money if i can help it. i know they do because they are paid for tv and such through commercials. i do have to keep up with personal hygiene, brush my teeth etc.

same goes for sports. i can imagine how many millions go to terrorist countries through donations to mosques by professional football, basketball and baseball players. bet no one has ever thought of that one.

as far as the entertainment and sports community are concerned from my point of view they can go roast in a hot place.

one of the other posters hit the nail on the head when they said the actors that hate guns the most are the biggest promoters of violence on the screen. see sylvestor stallone. he's the biggest hypocrite i've ever seen. piece of garbage.

well, thats my rant for the week.

p.s. forgot about ahnold.

Billy D....and a good rant it is...it is all about the mighty $$...such as the post here about the PETA woman that doesn't want animals used for medical things but on the other hand it is ok for her to use these same items for herself....because as she says it keeps her alive so she can promote PETA... I guess others have no reason good enough to live then. So they don't need them...I like the Bond movies but this one won't see my $....Even Arnold with all his action movies don't like guns...whew..then again married to a Kennedy, maybe says that to keep peace at home.

It's been a very long time since I watched network or Hollywood entertainment, and I don't listen to any music made after 1970.

What TV I watch is History channel, Discovery or similar. I see maybe two movies a year. The last one was "Wallace and Gromit" this past Sunday (which is totally wonderful, a must-see.)

I won't give even a nickel to support hypocrites on screen. Let 'em rot.

(Oh, and I won't wear Levis, either. They are big anti-gun donators. Mine are Lee, Wrangler, Dickies or Carhart.)
