I`ve had 2 Encore barrels in .204. I sent the first back to T/C and they replaced it. The second barrel would foul real bad with in 5 shot so I fire lapped it. That helped with the fouling, but did nothing for the accuracy. I traded that one on a 527 CZ and instantly fell in love. It really loves the 32 gn. Serria bullets, plain tack driver. The 32 gn. Hornadys don`t shoot real bad eather. The 39 gn. serria bullets are not to bad, but it just doesn`t like any of the 40 gn. bullets I`ve run through it. Another thing I like about the CZ is that it does not foul, well hardly at all. After 50 rounds down the barrel of and almost new gun I get only 3 or 4 blue patches with Sweets 7.62, and there is no lose of accuracy with that many rounds and not cleaning.
I also have a post you my want to read about the Serria 32 gn. bullets being NO GOOD for coyote.
The only powder I`ve run throygh mine is 2230-C. I bought 48 lbs. of this powder because it was so cheap, and I`m getting great accuracy with it in my CZ. Any powder near the burn rate of H-322, BLc-2 or H-335 sjould work well in this round.
I also had trouble with WIN. brass. I had 3 out of the 15 cases I was useing for load development have the case necks split with in the first 3 loads. The rest I`ve loaded 6 time with no splitting. The brass I formed from .222 Rem. mag. brass has all worked very well and has a thicker neck than the factory brass and I think will have an accuracy advantage when I start working up a bench load.
I shot 1 groundhog iwth it so far. I used the 32 gn. Serria bullet and hit it at 165 yrds. I got no exit wound with this bullet. this is my choice for small varment hunting as you will get no ricochets with it and it is deadly accurate. Hope this helps alittle.
