Saw a small pack of four and one got into bow range.

One confirmed dead one arrow bent all up.

Normally I don't even try for them till after Deer season. Then it's caller time and hammer time.

Only one for the year so far, if i am remembering correctly.

I usually don't hit them too hard, unless they start getting into the cattle, or other farm animals in teh areas i hunt, if they do, there's too many, if they don't i lettim repopulate till they do.

guesn 15-20 since this summer to now. think 5 between this month and last. not positive.

all kills confirmed. sometimes there confirmed in the back of the truck.

2506 is gona get a crack at em with 75sierras movn at 220swift speeds.

outa be alittle re mistage or heck maybe the bullet will turn into pepper on the hide.

I was just home to nebraska for deer hunting and saw about 20 in three days just driving around. They got mange real bad. Not hardly worth shooting if your looking to trade fur. I just hate em.

how do you like the scope for all around varmiting use. im lookin at going with more power than a 6-18 on my 220.

Nope, no mil dot on this one. In reality I don't think more than 6-18 is really necessary. When you crank it up pass 18 the field of view becomes very narrow. Great for targets and prairie dogs, coyotes tend to start moving very rapidly in various directions after the first shot so a narrow field of vision becomes quite the detriment when trying to pick up multiple targets on the move.

im thinking of making the 220 my long ranger rock chucks ground squrels and coyotes at long range.
then i still have the 2506 and 22/250 not to mention the 3006 as calling rifles..
my 18 power already is kinda missmatched for coyote calling. with the sun just startn to drop and the power on 6 its often times hard to find the target dot. its very small on small hairline crosse wires

Went out today, only saw one yote next to a ranch house on the way out. Wind was howling like a banshee and spitting snow. Pretty poor conditions. After hiking some new ground we called it a day early.

Imo I'd look at that 25-06 as a long range option. That 25cal pill will carry more energy further out and won't be as affected by the wind as a 40gr, 22cal. That being said I've also seen yotes dumped at 500+ yards with a 22-250 and a single shot.

That dog in the pic was at approximately 375yrds with a 50gr Nos Ballistic Tip and 35.5gr of Varget.

How far are you looking to shoot?

alittle over 400 is about as far as ive gone with the 2506.

ive streched the 220 past 450 while shooting jack rabbits.

i cant see me shooting much further. 400 is long ways.

i just like doing it with the 25 and the 224s to.

ad another dog to my count. dog was called in with the rabbit distress. but hung up in the 400ydish area. held the #1s target dot just over his shoulders and squeezed off rd of 220 pushn 55vmaxes. dog tipped over bullet did not exit.
this was all made possible do to laying down over bipods. no wind and im sure a good share of luck.
