Great pics.

You must have a decent amount of pheasants out there if you are allowed to shoot hens. Our limit here is one cock bird a day, and it takes a miracle to find one.

Hey guy nice pics, think I would have liked to have been there...somedays I would give anything to be in that terrain, instead of the briars I have to pick out of my dogs. Great shots thanks for sharing those with us...Val

Fabs:
All the birds in Campbell County, Wyoming are put and take birds, they are raised on a bird farm and approximately 220 are released in walk-in-areas once a week. The G&F claim that we have so many predators in Wyo. that the birds wouldn't make it in the wild anyway so our county gets all the hens out of the states raising pens. That's why we can take hens. Not exactly like hunting wild birds, but what can you do. That's why I was so excited about going to North Dakota. Only problem was I forgot to take pics while I was there, except for the pictures at the end of the day. Just so everyone knows these birds maybe pen raised birds but they are scattered over 4500 acres so you do have to do some work in getting them. Anyway thanks

Val:
Thanks. Wish you could have been here for a hunt. Mostly I hunt by myself and it's always more fun to hunt with someone than by yourself. Although we don't have many briars we do have alot of cactus, so when I get done hunting I usually spend about 30 minutes checking feet for cactus. Glad you enjoyed the pics.

Hi there gps
Nice looking dog and nice country. I've got two English Springer Spaniels. It's always nice if you can shoot with friends. Have you ever thought of getting the dog a pair of boots. Not joking they are available. It takes a while for the dog to get used to them but they do protect his feet in bad terrain.

Thanks fortune. Yes I've tried them, but that is one of the only things that I've run into that will get him to quit hunting. He will stop just long enough to get them off. He hates them and I hate trying to get him to wear them, so I just spend the time pulling cactus after the hunt. I always try and go over him after a hunt anyway to check for foreign material and check for injuries and or cuts and abrasions that need doctoring. The cactus doesn't slow him down while he's hunting unless he gets into some big stuff so we do it afterwards.

Looks like it was a good hunt and the dogs sure make it great.
Will have to take some shots when I get the dogs out again.

Nulle it was a good hunt, and yes I would like to see some pictures of your dogs hunting. So don't forget the camera next trip. How's your latest been doing? Have you got him into many birds this year? Can't wait to see some pictures from you. Good luck.
