Thumbs up Two Groups with 6.5-06 using IMR-4350

Hi Guys! Just thought I would post pictures of my latest groups with my 6.5-06 .This was at 100 yards using a 140 gr Sierra BTSP bullet with Reformed .270 casings by Remington and the powder charge was 51.5 grains of IMR-4350 Both were 3 shot groups and both 2 shots were in one hole. The 270 casings seem a little more accurate for me than using 30-06 casings or 25-06 casings.Dont know why. Roy

Excellent groups!

Curious as to who the maker of the barrel is. Did you do the work yourself or did you have a gunsmith do it? Or I guess the better question is.......are you a gunsmith? I saw the pictures that you posted of your rifle in another thread and it is a very handsome rifle. You have very good tastes in shoot'in iron

6.5s4ever,

You got me green with envy. I'm chomping at the bit waiting for my .264 project to get finished and your posting targets from your 6.5-06. It's just not fair I say it's just not but anyway those are very nice groups none the less.

Answers!

Billy, To answer your question no I am not a gunsmith and the maker of the barrel is ER Shaw , its a heavy sporter weight barrel 26 " in length. I did the stock work, but had a gunsmith fit the barrel to the reciever replacing the stock Ruger 30-06 barrel. No ground hog is safe now !!! Oh Rumluver let me know how your 264 project works out OK Roy

6.5s - great groups, and great shooting.

Those Shaw barrels are very nice, and a bargain to boot.

Oh, I love your sig line. Allow me to add to it:

And had the same result if held to the head while driving!

Roy,

As soon as I can I'll let you know and I'll be able to post some of my own targets and a picture of my rifle!
