Wolf Brand Slugs

I bought a few boxes of these elcheapo slugs at the gun show just to see what they were about along with some Wolf brand buckshot.

I used the buckshot to put down a feral dog that came after me last year while hunting.

Didn't really do too much with the slugs until this year. On the way out of the woods one morning I stopped and popped a Wolf Brand slug in the chamber and picked a knot on the side of a dead tree witha nice hill in the background. At about 50 yard the sWolf slug hit the knot dead center and blew a good sized chunk of the knot off the tree.

OK now I was convinced they would hit where I aimed. The next day I put the Wolf slug first in the chamber. shot a small doe with one of these slugs and man did she drop in her tracks. the slug actually has almost a whistle to it and a definite thump when it hits.

I don't know how these slug will hold up out to 75 - 100 yards but out to 50 yards they are right lethal on deer.

I appreciate the info buddy. I have been wondering about these for awhile, and since I have not seen them except online have not bothered (who wants to pay all that extra shipping for something ya dont know about?)

GOB, I don't generally buy ammo online either if I can avoid it for that very reason. I hate nothing more than finding what looks like a heck of a deal online and then by the time you add in the shipping you'd have been better off to just pay more and buy it at a store close to home.

I picked the wolf slugs up at a GunShow along with several boxes of their buckshot. bought the buckshot to have for home defense rounds, before I had a decent handgun, I just bought the slugs out of curiousity. But now I know they actually shoot fairly well I might be buying some more.

Just FYI the actual lead slug in the WOLF brand slugs is much like the old Brenneke design slug
