Rossi Single Shot Rifle

Anyone have experience with Rossi single shot rifles. I'm looking to upgrade my varmint gun from the .22 mag I have now to a .223. I had my low budget choice down between NEF & the Stevens 200. I went to Dick's today and they had a Rossi heavy barrel .223 with a Simmons (not my choice of scopes,) 6-28X scope. I can't find the scope anywhere on the Simmons web site and I can't find any reviews on Rossi rifles. Any advice would be appreciated.

Got the kids the youth .22lr/410 combo. The .22 shoots very well, and for a $115, even more impressive. The 410 barrel shoots squirrels okay, but slugs won`t stay on a 5 gallon bucket at 40 yards. My girl managed to kill her first deer with though. But recoil from this very light weight shotgun, even if it is only a 410, is stout. Not one of my 3 kids ask to shoot it, lol. The hammer spring has become weak after about 5,000 rounds, and it gets misfires now. But i guess thats easily fixed. I don`t know about center fire, but if it shoots like the rimfire, for the money, they are`nt bad.

Exclamation Rossi

Got the grandson a .22rf/26gs combo, Roger on the recoil being stiff.
The .22rf shoots like a house on fire! No reason why the .223 won't.

I didn't know the 410 slug was legal for deer in Ohio

Thanks for the replys. The .223 is heavy and shouldn't kick bad. I don't like it that your getting misfires from a weak spring. I'll have to think about that one.

I got my bull barrel NEF .223 from Dicks.
Did ya ask if they could order one for ya? The weight of the barrel absorbs a lot of the recoil, although .223 doesn’t have a heavy recoil without a thick barrel.
