Question Need Canadian source for hulls.

Anybody know a reliable source of AA shotgun hulls in Canada? Shipping from ebay USA tends to be $30/1000 which make sthem pretty expensive. Add the taxes and crap they hit you with at the border and I might as well by them loaded and unload them myself.

Better late then never!

I see no replies, so being a fellow Canuck, I'll throw in my two bits.

When I started out to get serious about the clay games, I was in the same position. I was at the Van. Gun Club, and looking for throw aways that the non-re-loaders let lie. One of the fellows saw my problem trying to find decent re-loadable hulls, and was nice enough to offer to sell me two huge garbage bags full of the old style AA's. That got me started. After that I was able to get thousands of them from other shooters that heard I was looking for hulls. Some fellows would bag them after they shot, so they never hit the ground. Many re-loaders don't care for the new style AA-HS hull, so there were plenty for the picking. You might try one of your local gun clubs. Nanaimo fish and game club has several shoots a year, as well as many others, Parksville-Quailicum, Cowichan, SVI Rangers, and the Victoria Club. Up Island there is the Campbell River GC. If you check any of the clubs that may have web sites, you should see the dates for the VISL shoots (Vancouver Island Shooting League) Or PITA shoots (Pacific International Trapshooting Assoc.)

Failing that, go buy yourself a few flats of factory new shells, shoot them and save the hulls. You can usually get 8-10 reloads from them before the crimp starts to go.

Personally, I prefer the Remington hulls, either the cheaper Gun Club, or the STS/Nitro, are excellent re-loadable hulls.

Good luck!

If all else fails try a trap range in your area. They'll usually have plenty they can sell you. Best wishes.
