Ankorage

Several years ago when Jim (we called him Bum) was starting out in the WV DNR he was told to trap Wv furbearers and prepare the hides. Later he was sent to Ankorage to the fur auction to see if Wv fur would bring prices like the furs from further north. They did and he came back full of stories, two of which were:

Bum watched two trappers trying to get a lady to go back to their remote camp to live with them. She was a really large lady and one trapper told the other he should look for a smaller lady but he said: I like this one, She will keep me warm in the winter and give me shade in the summer.

Two other trappers were arguing over the pros and cons of snowmobiles. The one ole fellow said, Ill keep my dog team, when you get stuck out there in the wilderness and get really hungry- you cant eat your snowmobile.
