Another Veteran has passed on today...
Don Knotts died today of pulmonary and respiratory complications at the age of 81.

All those credentials and Andy would only give him ONE BULLET!
 The wife and I watch the Andy Griffith Show almost every night, heck, I have it on DVD. It's one of the few clean living programs left on TV. We're looking for a Mayberry of our own someday. Don Knotts was a kick to watch on almost any program he was involved with. I was especially fond of him when I was a kid and watched him as The Incredible Mr. Limpett. I loved that movie! I'm hoping "Barney" has found himself a nice porch with a rail so that he can now kick up his tired feet and rest in his own Mayberry.

Don Knotts was a comedy immortal, IMO, with the Barney Fife character.
He will be missed.

Yea I find myself watching the old re-runs also...and it always makes me smile...Barney was and will always be known for his comic genuis....he played a shoe salesman in some famous old movie, wait its coming to me...I think it was with Doris Day she was lost on an island for seven years and comes back to find her husband engaged to another woman, wasnt the husband James Garner?

Hollywood was full of WWII veterans at the time. They served their country honorably, came home and went about their lives.
Don and veterans like him will all be missed greatly.
