I am an apparel design student from the University of Delaware. I am working with a team of students on developing a performance line of Women's Hunting Apparel. Right now we are working on research on finding out what women hunters, like you, want from performance apparel. If you could respond with answers to any or all of the questions below, it would be much appreciated and will also help us produce the products that you want!
How often do you go hunting? How warm of temperatures would you hunt in? Please describe what you wear when you go hunting. How much extra stuff do you carry with you and how do you carry it? Do you like to have pockets and if so what for? Do you prefer to wear layers when hunting? How many layers are ideal? What is the most important factor about your hunting apparel? How does your apparel differ in warmer temperatures? Are you comfortable hunting in short sleeves or do you prefer to be more covered? What would be ideal for hunting in warm temperatures? How important to you is the style of your hunting apparel? Is it important to you that your apparel be waterproof? Do you like to blend in with your environment (aka camo)? Please rate the following in order of importance: fit, comfort, camoflauging ability, ability to keep you warm/cool, waterproof, overall style and look Do you have trouble finding women’s performance hunting apparel? Do you wear men’s hunting gear? What features do you wish your hunting clothing had? What is your biggest problem with fit? What is your active wear size( S, M, L, Xl…)? What is your size in jeans and regular clothing? (6,8,10,12…)? How tight or loose do you prefer your hunting apparel be? Where do you shop for hunting apparel? Do you wear hunting apparel exclusively for hunting or do you wear it for other activities? If so, what activities? If you could request any hunting apparel what would you want it to be like? Do you have any other comments or information you would like to share with us? Thank you! |

boy you got all the bases covered and your ducks in a row. if you are as sucessful at designing clothes as you are at questioning you are going to be a true leader. it wasn't until i started hunting with a lady that i discovered that women have something us guys don't, an extra layer under the skin. wondered why my lady was sweating and i was cold and we were dressed alike. the same layers. i wish you much success in your endeavor.

First off welcome to Huntchat.
![]() I'm just makin a quick stop tonight but I'll take the time to answer yur questions tomorrow. One thing I did notice, and don't take this the wrong way please. You ask quite often about warm temps, and that's my biggest beef. If I wanna get huntin duds I gotta get them from the States, and they are all geared toward warmer climbs than what we have here. I made a trip south to the only Bass Pro in Canada and the duds they had there were a joke, for summer hunting only. Nice cotten shirts, nice cotton pants, and nice cotton coveralls. Totally useless for someone that hunts in northern Canada, at least most of the time. We do have the odd time that the weather takes a wierd turn, like last year for deer season it was over 70F for three days. Very wierd. Then of course we got snow for the rest of season. ![]() We don't have hunting seasons in the summer. Only time we have warm weather hunting is the beginning of bear season which is mid August (around 60F or lower), and that doesn't last long. After that we're lucky if it's not snowing. So to answer most of yur 'warm' questions. Most of the time the temps are between freezing (32F) and downright cold (0F) or colder. ![]() I promise to take the time to answer yur questions properly tomorrow. I wish you all the very best of luck in yur endeavor. ![]()
