Another hobby

Not really a hobby, but something I do a lot of whenever needed is firefighting. Go to a lot of them, but never have taken a picture, no free hands. A neighbor got this shot last night and sent it to the Dept. We lost the grain elevator, but saved everything around it. Believe it or not, the most valuable thing we had to protect was the railroad track right next to the building. That's the main BNSF line in Minnesota. The downtime charge for stopping the railroad is huge, but they shut it down for a few hours and were up & running again last night.

My hat is off to you and your Dept. Over the years I've seen many Departments, Police, Sheriff's, Conservation officer, Fire Dept. EMTS and other Emergency Personel, ect. put their lives on the line to protect the lives and property of people they don't even know, and not as much as a " Thank You". It takes a special breed to do this kind of work, but when you see that you've helped someone, that alone is enough thanks, but on a rare occaision someone will personally thank you and that really means alot. So for those that "forget" Thanks for a job well done!
