Model 1918 BAR

While in the gun shop today, a fellow brought in his newest acquisition which was Class 3 Model 1918 BAR in mint condition. Everyone in the shop fell in love with it. I asked the owner what a BAR goes for today. He said prices start around $30,000.00 and his like-new selective-fire automatic rifle cost him $35,000.00. All the best...

Nice! not often you see one of those that has obviously been taken very good care of.

But if you think about it, _any_ select fire class 3 should be in damn near spotless condition. I mean look at how outragiously expensive they are, well above what they are really worth, and all because of the registration, thats the only thing making them so expensive.

Class 3 costs

What drives up the costs of these weapons is the fact that when the Volkimer-McClure Act was passed in 1986, no more Class 3 firearms were allowed to be added to the market for civilians. Police and military were exempt from these provisions. The number of full auto weapons available was fixed and the prices are marching right off the charts. All the best...
