Where's "None of the above"?
I mostly listen to various forms of metal (death, goth, black, hardcore, mathcore, screamo, thrash, power, shred, progressive, etc). Tops on my list would be bands like Opeth, Lamb Of God, Shadows Fall, Nevermore, Metallica, Slayer, Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, Pantera, Killswitch Engage, Dream Theater, Turbid North, Recca and Murder Is Justice. Alot of progressive shred and instrumental like Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Angelo Batio, Eric Johnson and the like. I do get into some good old classic hard rock ala Ted Nugent, Foghat, AC/DC, Rush plus some acid rock like Pink Floyd.

Yeah, I like technical music, which is why I listen to alot of classical and neoclassical shred. I'm a theory buff.
Now if only I could apply my knowledge to my own music...

When working my trapline,I listen to no music.I want to hear what the outdoors is telling me.Geese,Trumpeter Swans,Loons,to name a few, offer up music of their own.
I must admit, when I am trapping on my northern beaver line---I sing--not because I enjoy hearing myself.I want to let any bears in the area know I am coming. You haven't lived till you have had one coming full bore at you. What do I sing---real classic rock. The Byrds catalog of songs,is first on my list.Roger Mcguinns-Mr.Spaceman can be belted out with enthusiasm--and so far has kept the bears away.8 Miles High is a bit more difficult. Tom Olson

Personal made concert tapes of Dead shows have come along on the trapline and into the deerstand also. Yes I am a deer hunting deadhead.
Walkman??????? Hey they got these new devices called Ipods shuffles that hold 250 songs and there about the size of a postage stamp for less than 70 bucks. might be time for and upgrade as batteries arn't needed and weight is minimal. As for Wahnie: Pantera, Yngwie Malmsteen, Metallica, are on my IPOD also. Sorry but the rest I have yet to hear, You might like to pick up some good old sk8ter punk to round out your list.
