Arrow What was your farthest shot and what caliber?

What was your longest shot at a varmit that you hit, and what caliber gun?
I recently shot a woodchuck with my .223 using 55gr hp.....at 427 yds. This was first paced off, then checked later with a laser range finder. I shot prone with a good rest. I was amazed by it......

A Woodchuck at 457 yds measured with a steel surveyors tape on very level ground with a witness. Used a 220 Swift with 55gr Nosler BTs about 10 years ago, early spring during thier digging out period and are stupid. Hit it with the 3rd shot, it just stood there wondering why the dust was exploding next to it. Believe I 've had a couple farther (500+) but never measured them so they don't count, no witness either. Generally don't get to shoot that far in Southern Michigan very often, it's hard enough to see them at 100yds once they get into the fencerows.

A groundhog at 522yds lasered with a VLS 308Win shooting 168gr Speer Match over IMR4350 off a harris bipod prone. Took 2 shots. Missed on the first, held 1 mil into the wind and nailed it.
I had one running real good at about 1k with the VSF 308 though...

Woodchuck at 300 yards (per rangefinder) with a .243.

(Not that it was asked, but my shortest distance on a woodchuck was about five feet with a shotgun!)

Woodchuck, 648 yards, lasered and witnessed.
Sako heavy barreled 243, 6-20 Nikon scope. Hornady V Max, 87 grain bullet at 3150 fps.
I missed him a couple times before I got him, though.

Mine was a Groundhog at 1005 yds., measured with a Leica 1200 rangefinder. I was using a 257 Weatherby mag, 100 gr. Nosler BT, 6x24 Sightron w/target knobs. I was prone using a Harris bipod, took 2 rounds to connect.

well this is in a slightly different direction but the best i ever did was 3 years ago, i am in a no centerfire area, open sighted i went acrossed a small valley at least 150yds with a .22 long rifle. to hit a standing chuck. its shots like that that still will me to climb hills and slowly turned weeded corners all summer for a chance to make a snap shot on a hog (btw,,, it was a federal lightning 22 hp)
