Great bear, bad bugs

I killed a 300 + lb. boar black bear with my Pronghorn recurve, using my own handmade cedar arrows and a Magnus I 135 gr. broadhead.
I think I kind of upset a few hunters that were hunting with compond bows and rifles, the "old man" with the stick & string came through.
If anyone wants to see a photo taken and entered on the web site by the lodge, go to ( www. lodge-at-parent-lake.com) also see the report on the Thermacell in GEAR and GADGETS, I tested it, it might work in the U.S.A. but it didn't work in Senneterre, Quebec, Canada: :

Kildog, I don't know, but I tried it on stand and then we even gave it a second chance on the porch of our cabin, it just didn't seem to faze them( mosiqutos, black flies, & no-see-ums)

The first night I was so confident of the Thermacell,( from advertisment)I didn't take my headnet or bug spray, It was the most miserable night I ever had. The second night, I tape my gloves and jacket sleeves together, had my headnet, Deep Woods Off with Deet. Thats when I killed my bear,
Thank God for Duct Tape, Deep Woods Off, and Headnet.

I do know that the bugs up there are more fierce than here in the U.S., ) I was told by English speaking local taht a few years ago, during June, July, August, the loggers layed off work, because they couldn't work because of them.

Even though I killed a nice bear, no more spring hunts for me, just cann't stand those bugs, especially when it sounds like a lawnmower going around your head, while hunting

Thanks for the Congrats Kildog, this was my 3rd Black Bear with
my "Mystic" Pronghorn recurve, I've killed 5 other bear with side lock muzzleloader, all the bear were enjoyable, but with a stick and string it's a great feeling! I love to bear hunt, everyone seems to think it will make the minimum for Pope & Young, if it does, then I'm like Paul Schaeffer," good for the bear," because I'll never enter him in a book, the memories will be my record !
