Went to Dicks...Again

Dicks sporting Goods ran the infamous .45ACP for $9.95 @ 50 again today....fourth time in 1 1/2 years I have gone. AGAIN,
ammo shortage, we are out of it. Went across the street to Sportsman Warehouse, paid 56 cents more and the GM offered me a truck load!
I think we have covered this subject before, just venting!
Guess I'm a slow learner.....

Sheesh, GM sold me a case of Winchester Ranger for this price!

I've had nothing but good experiences at Sportsman's Warehouse. It's more of a no-nonsense, no gimmick store where you can go in and get what you need and get out again. I've only been to two different stores but found the help was very good. Not much for clothes, but for actual hunting supplies I sure like them. Prices seem very competitive too, good everyday prices without the gimmicks you ran into with the ammo.

Don't get me started about Dick's. They are okay, but nothing special. They bought out Galyan's Trading Company, which had a great gun selection, including handguns, and a great ammo selection with speciality/premium grade ammo for rifles. Now that Dick's owns them, the selection sucks for both guns and ammo. I'll go there if I am in a pinch, but I try to shop elsewhere if possible (e.g., Cabelas and Outdoor World).

Other than the Mom & Pop store's Dicks is the big boy in town(for now). Selection sucks except for SG Slugs. No handguns in MA. Rifle selection is OK for a first time buyer. Will use them in a pinch. With that being said we are getting a New "Bass Pro" sometime next year. That should help the selections.

There is only one in Florida as far as I know. Thats up in Jacksonville. I have stopped in a few times. Usually they are over stocked on stuff no one wants, and out of stock on stuff I want. Don't go there for anything related to shooting sports. They seem ok so far as ladies jogging clothes go, and plastic kayaks.
