Had a little scare yesterday

My 1st Sgt told me yesterday that I may not be able to sew on my stripe-a FREAKIN week before I'm supposed to sew on-because of my progress, or lack thereof, on the fitness program. I've been having problems with athsma for a while and I'm just now getting it under control enough that I can start working out again. Thankfully, I was able to talk to my commander about it and he agreed to let me sew on as long I make forward progress. So, next Tuesday I'll be wearing my stripe...WOOHOO!!!

that could have been skeery. As I (civilian that I am) understand it, if you do not make forward progress you can get the boot, can't you?

are they, the af, still playing that game? what a bunch of horse manure.

this is the same af that kept all weapons locked in an armory? in 'nam. but we were protected by the air police at that time. what a joke. usually in some remote location on base. thats all right with little billy. i use to trade booze for guns. in our tool box on the jammer there was always a 45. and if it was confiscated it was quickly replaced.

i would have been concerned about my safety for sure had it not been for the republic of korea forces that were protecting the outer perimiters. those guys were mean.

one night in the nco club two rok's got involved in a litte fracus with 6 of our intrepid security? police men over some chick. well the rok's kicked their a$$. so the cops not to be outdone got a hold of some of their buddies who under a guise brought a team with 4 more cops and three german shepards. they stormed the club and confronted the rok's. now this was getting interesting.

the first thing to fly out the front door of the club was 3 quite dead puppy dogs and then 4 cops that really didn't look too good either.

about this time someone that was thinking rationally called the rok commander and he came down and carted his boys off.

hell we were just sitting there playing cards and enjoying the activities. being the senior drunk, ie: customer at the time the rok commander looked around the room and spotted me. he came over to our table and i rose and stood at attention and he told me to sit down , so we invited him to sit down and have a drink with us. he asked how all this got started and we told him. the dumb cop threw the first punch.

we told him his guys did a great job and we liked having them around. he showed absolutely no emotion but had a litttle twinkle in his eye when he and his troops left. we never heard a word from our base commander.

by the way, i spent 4+ years in that hell hole and never ran from anything. except one of our house girls, mamasons, but thats another story.

i still don't understand why the air force tries to turn everybody into a track star.
