Scouting

I have been out to the two farms in North Central Florida, that I will hunt this fall. On the smaller farm, it looks like I will put up a tree stand about 50 yards into the swamp. The water levels are down a bit from last year, and there are some well traveled trails now. There are some good shots across a peanut hay field also. I took a doe across that field last fall. The longest shot of my life on a deer, at just over 250 yards.
On the larger farm, I will be mostly still hunting. The deer seem to be frequenting the same areas as in the past. They are still bedding down just inside the swampy area south of the creek, and feed at the edges of the pastures. This farm has a large area covered with hardwoods and wet lands.
bought one of those little tent like ground stands to use there. It has a chair with swivel seat, and windows. I will put it up next to a fence along the pasture, and will have a good shot as the deer come out to feed.
I have seen a number of does with fawns, and some good looking young bucks. There is one nice 6 point that I have walked up on twice now. Come November, he's mine
