TC Scout Blow Back???

I was out shooting a new scout ( new to me it’s a used gun) and on the second shot I had burnt powder blown back into my face. Luckily I was where sunglasses. It severely burned my check under my eye.

I am taking the gun to a gun smith today but any thoughts on what might have happened or be wrong with the gun??

I was shooting a light load 75 grains of ffg and a 350 grain conical with standard caps.

Nipple screwed in tightly? Send it to T/C they have a lifetime warranty and pay for shipping--assuming it applies to the scout. Gun cleaned well?

Spoke with TC. They are going to have the gun shipped back and will do all the work on it.

Hope its finished before my hunt in October!

If it is a used gun, it could be the nipple, I have heard of people drilling out the nipple to get more flame to the powder what the morons don't understand is that the nipple hole is small for a reason!
